TRACTOR / MACHINE OPERATOR

As operator you will support the day to day running of a Gas to Grid Anaerobic Digestion Plant, and assist with farm operations associated with the supply of feedstock to the AD Plant.

Main Tasks AD Plant:

• Operate a loading shovel/excavator to fill silage clamps
• Load the feed hopper with feed ration in accordance with a specified schedule
• Operate and maintain weighbridge on site
• Complete daily checks and keep a log book
• Remove solid and liquid digestate to storage facility
• Operate farm equipment to spread digestate on farmland
• Undertake housekeeping duties to keep the site in a clean and tidy condition
• Assist with fault-finding and minor repairs on plant and equipment

Main Tasks Farm:

• Assist in all cultivation works associated with Arable and Forage crops
• Undertake repairs and maintenance of plant and machinery
• Harvest operations for Cereal, Root and Forage crops.
• Upkeep of farm tracks, buildings and field drains etc.
• Materials handling i.e. loading grain out of store etc.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Experience of operating Agricultural and Mobile Plant machinery
• Have a good understanding of health and safety regulations
• Work on own initiative as well as part of a team
• Hold a valid mobile plant and Forklift certificates
