POTATO-BASED GENERAL MANAGER

A major producer and supplier of Potato Seeds is seeking to recruit a Potato-based General Manager, based in Tayside. The area covered will be Scotland and Northern England and a company vehicle will be made available, fit for purpose.

Your Tasks:

Your tasks will include:
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout Scotland and Northern England on a regular and frequent basis to support fellow colleagues and the functionality of the head office, based in Norfolk. A full driving license is essential and should be preferably clean
• Seek innovative ways of improving the company’s activity and successes and also exploring opportunities with both existing and new customers
• At peak times you will need to work long hours to maintain the Company demands and ensure all tasks are satisfactorily completed.

We expect:

• Technical qualifications (Basis and Facts) are preferred but not essential, as is sales experience or any other form of agricultural training. Experience in the potato business would be an advantage but not essential.
• Ability to asses crops and adapt strategies to work with the grower and commercial situation
• Responsibility to be able to follow instructions but also use own initiative when required
• High work commitment, high sense of responsibility and reliability will be rewarded
• Flexibility, team spirit, self-motivation, as well as an assertive and confident behaviour preferred
