LIVESTOCK BUYER

Stoddart's are a leading, independent Scottish beef processing company who deliver best quality Scottish beef to our loyal customer base.

Due to continued growth and an increasing demand for Stoddart’s beef, we are seeking a Livestock Buyer to join our Procurement team to cover, but not limited to, the Scottish Borders. In this role you will play a key role in ensuring the business is supplied with best quality cattle for our growing national and international customers.

Competitive salary, depending on experience.

As Livestock Buyer, your key duties will include:
• Working as part of a small team to ensure there is enough cattle supplied to the business each week
• Carrying out farm visits to develop and maintain supplier relationships
• Procuring livestock with on farm visits, via phone
• Liaising with hauliers and Lairage department to ensure livestock deliveries arrive on time
• Represent the company at agricultural shows and related events

Experience and Skills we are seeking:
• Highly motivated, able to work alone and as part of a team
• Excellent organisation, communication and negotiation skills
• Strong financial understanding
• Good time management
• Capable of making decisions quickly whilst under pressure
• Self-motivated and driven
• Must hold a full and clean UK Driving License
