LIVESTOCK ASSISTANT, FARMER

An opportunity for a Livestock Assistant post within Pollok Country Park. The post will be working within Pollok Country Park and the wider Pollok Country Estate assisting with the management of the Pollok Fold of Highland Cattle. You should have a current driving licence to include class C licence and CPC and should be able to use and carry out basic maintenance of machinery; operation of vehicles and equipment. It is also essential to have previous experience of land-based skills and experience in animal husbandry. You require to have knowledge of and the ability to devise breeding cycles and an understanding of the needs and management of pregnant livestock. You will have good communication skills and approach to dealing with the public and basic IT skills. It is desirable for you to have knowledge of COSHH, H&S, public safety, GCC Code of Practice.
