We are looking for a Lecturer in Agriculture, who will be based at SRUC’s Oatridge Campus in West Lothian as part of the Agriculture, Horticulture and Engineering Science Department within the Central Faculty of SRUC. The successful candidate will be required to deliver teaching and practical classes to students as directed by the Agriculture Programme Team leader at Oatridge.
They will prepare and deliver programmes of education, training and assessment, including a wide range of practical skills to a high standard as well as classroom teaching to appropriate academic standards deliver and assess modules typically in all areas detailed below.
Scope of the role:
• Be an active and engaged member of the Agriculture team
• Have a student-focussed approach to teaching and be able to engage young people in a classroom and practical environment
• Preparation of learning materials
• Delivering programmes of education, training and assessment, including a wide range of practical skills to a high standard as well as classroom teaching to appropriate academic standards
• Conducting student assessment and feedback in accordance with Awarding Body standards
• Maintaining appropriate records of teaching, student engagement and attainment
• Maintaining appropriate records of attendance
• Provision of educational guidance, counselling and tutorials as required
• Attending internal and external meetings as required
• Undertake assessment and feedback to students
• Participate in recruitment activity in collaboration with SRUC marketing team
