HILL SHEPHERD

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative Hill shepherd running approximately 900 ewes on an excellent farming enterprise in Morayshire. The successful candidate would be responsible for the day to day management of 700 blackface hill ewes and a 200 ewe inbye commercial/crossing ewe flock along with associated grassland management, maintenance duties and contractor management.

Agriculture is a key and long-term integrated part of the estate management plans and the primary focus is on creating a sustainable and resilient farming enterprise, led by motivated, objective and forward-thinking people with the ability to embrace change and harness opportunities.

The successful candidate will require a keen interest and experience with hill and lowground sheep and good dogs would be essential.

The position is ideally suited for an ambitious person and would come with accommodation, competitive salary and a farm vehicle. Positioned in Morayshire, with excellent local schools and all local amenities within a few miles drive (Forres 7 miles, Nairn 15 miles, Inverness 27 miles).
