FARM MANAGER
Great opportunity for an enthusiastic modern Farm Manager to get involved at the start of a rural diversification plan for 210 hectares (520 acres) of land - arable, grazing & some woodland in West Lothian. We are looking to transition from traditional commercial beef to native quality pure bred cattle, sheep & Red Deer with a strategic plan of: “from farm to plate”.
If you have good working experience in general agriculture and stock management, great interpersonal skills and are interested in organic clean food production and marketing, this might be an ideal opportunity for you to demonstrate a “self-employed- attitude” and enjoy the journey of building a team to cover all areas of expertise.
This exciting project will be sufficiently funded to include personnel training on areas required and will include good accommodation in an area of great beauty with excellent local schools/amenities.
A successful candidate will require:
• Knowledge & experience of arable & grassland management
• Hands on experience of all general farm equipment operation/maintenance
• Enjoy working with mixed stock – cattle & sheep (deer experience an advantage)
• Interested in Organic/Regenerative agriculture
• Interested in or experience around butchering and carcass quality
This new project is ambitious and will be delivered in a timely manner and supported by all the relevant skill sets as required.
Remuneration will depend on experience and will be discussed at interview.
