FARM MANAGER DESIGNATE

Lylestane Farm (near Lauder, Berwickshire) are seeking to appoint a farm manager designate to take over from the current farm manager, who is retiring, during 2022. This is an excellent opportunity for a progressive hard working individual to take full responsibility for this farm & business.

Lylestane is a 320ha mixed arable & livestock farm currently running 900 Cheviot, Texel & Aberfield cross ewes producing fat lambs on farm. Additionally up to 80 cattle are purchased for finishing/forward stores. 40ha of cereals are grown annually using contractors.

The successful candidate will be :
• Confident working with livestock, its breeding policy & management.
• Excellent at planning, organising and working to their own initiative.
• A proficient record keeper with good communication skills reporting to the off farm management.
• Able to demonstrate leadership ability to include farm employees and contractors
