EXPERIENCED SHEPHERD

Glendelvine Estate, Caputh, Perthshire

Due to an unforeseen change in circumstances we are seeking an experienced shepherd to look after our starter flock of 550 Shetland ewes that have been put to Lleyn tups.

Our aim is to increase the flock to 12-1500 ewes over 3 years with the reintroduction of grass leys into our arable based system over 1500 acres. All welfare responsibility and record keeping is expected to be carried out to a high standard. Until flock numbers increase other duties on the estate would be part of the role only as the sheep enterprise allows. For example filling up the biomass boiler and assisting other members of our team keeping the place neat and tidy.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to manage and grow our sheep enterprise. Experience with tractor and quad bike driving would be an advantage. Other training will be given where necessary.
