Lanark Market played host to The Clydesdale Horse Society’s Winter Fair which attracting more than 40 entries from across the country and international waters.
Former society president Jim Greenhill, Forfar, was the day's judge and found his supreme in the foal champion, Hekules Texas Hold’em from Christer Paulsson.
"She's a very sweet filly with silky hair, strong bones and moves very well,” said Mr Greenhill in describing his choice of champion.
The January-born filly from Sweden produced by the Black family from Collessie, is sired by Collessie Highlander out of Old Greenlaw Jura. Foal champion at Strathaven Show, she was also overall champion at Kilmarnock Foal Show.

Reserve was the senior champion, Ainville Cindy Doll, a two-year-old filly from William Mitchell, Kirknewton. This home-bred entry by the Cawdor Cup winning stallion Doura Magic Touch, is out of Ainville Lulu. Last year she won the yearling class at the Society's Winter Fair.
Reserve foal was Ronnie Black's senior filly Collessie Princess, from Fife. Out of Collessie Kirsty and sired by Collessie Monarch the March-born entry was overall champion at Lanark and reserve overall at North of Fife Foal Show.
Team Collessie also picked up the reserve senior honours with their yearling filly Collessie Aurora. She was champion at Fife Show, reserve senior at North of Fife Foal Show and won her class at Aberdeen in August. She is sired by Collessie Highlander and out of Roughlands Jasmine.
The event's prestigious young handlers' award was won by the senior winner, Kaitlyn Marshall, Whithorn who used her family's colt foal Burgess Outon Tom to take the top spot. The junior section was won by Harry Martin, Monikie who showed the gelding Guildy Flash from the family farm.
The Clydesdale Horse Society's Champion of Champions accolade – based on previous show success throughout the season and staged in conjunction with the Winter Fair saw eight entries forward for the judge, Janette Farley, Carluke. Supreme overall was Muirton Successor from Thomas Clark and family from Perthshire. Successor qualified at North of Fife Foal Show earlier this month where he was overall champion. This colt was also reserve at both Kilmarnock and Lanark Foal Shows. He is sired by Muirton Sabre and out of Macfin Diamond Queen.

Reserve champion of champions went to the Winter Fair’s reserve senior champion Collessie Aurora from Ronnie Black, which qualified at Fife Show, in May.
Third place went to Doura Sorrento from William and Janice Dunbar Newhouse. Their three-year-old filly bred by Charlotte Young, Ayr is sired by Doura Magic Touch and out of Collessie Flash Girl. She qualified at Lesmahagow, Chapelton, Biggar and Strathaven Show this year and also won the Lanarkshire Points Trophy.
