South West Scotland Dairy Show held at Wallets Mart, Castle Douglas, saw a packed ringside of spectators forward to view a bumper display of cattle forward from as far afield as Ballantrae, Hexham and Penrith.
Judge Gavin Baillie of Dalserf Holsteins, had his work cut out for him from the outset. He first had to select a winner from a strong class of junior young handlers which saw Sophie Brown, Haugh of Urr, win for the second year running, this year leading Logan Jones Alpha Apple Tart.
Securing the red ribbon in the senior class was Kacie McCormick. This was her third win at the South West Scotland Dairy Show, she has also had previous wins at Stewartry and Moffat Shows.
