Jim Young’s Muirton enterprise led a strong competition to win the North-east Scotland Suffolk Flock competition, having initially topped the large flocks and won the award for the best stock ram with Middlemuir Monarch.
Judges James Scott and his son Malcolm of the Strathview flock had a busy couple of days visiting 13 flocks in which to find their winners. Reserve was John Gibb, Cairnton.
The presentation of awards also saw club secretary, Evelyn Young step down after some 22 years of service.
