Arrangements are well underway for the 2024 West of Scotland Dairy Show, which will be held on Friday, October 18, at Ayr Market by kind permission of Craig Wilson Ltd, from 6.30pm.

The evening show which has been moved to a Friday evening to attract a bigger audience, has has gone from strength and looks set to be bigger and better than ever with the addition of a stock judging competition and licensed bar.

Entry for the stock judging will be £5 with a cash prize of £200 for the overall winner.

There are also 15 classes for dairy exhibitors and sections for Ayrshire, Holstein and Red and White cattle of all ages culminating in inter-breed heifer and cow championships and the Lockharts West of Scotland Supercow competition judged by the spectators.

Kindly sponsored by Lockhart’s Law, there is prize money for all animals placed first to fifth with red ticket holders receiving £40 and the champion winners in each section taking home £60.

The judge for the 2024 show is Mr. Denis O’Neill.
