Champion and overall champion of champions – H and M Rorison, Clonrae, Tynron, Thornhill, with a two-crop ewe by a son of a £150,000 Auldhouseburn brough out by shepherd Michael Robertson. She is out of a ewe by Joko and was champion at East Kilbride in 2022 and at Dumfries in 2023. Breed leader and reserve inter-breed sheep at Abington this year. Reserve – J Murray, Crossflatt, Muirkirk, with a ram lamb by Titan, a home-bred son of a £160,000 Dyke retained for breeding. The dam is a full sister to Crossflatt Ayr Raid, a £34,000 ram lamb sold at Ayr in 2020. First outing. Aged ram – O Wardrop, Brisbane Glen Estates, West Kilbride. Reserve – S Wallace, Midlock, Crawford, with a ewe lamb by The Emperor, a home-bred son of a £30,000 Crossflatt, out of a ewe by a £100,000 Midlock. Ewe, ewe lamb – S Wallace. Gimmer – W Craig, Gosland, Broughton, Biggar. Tup lamb – A Dunlop.

Prime lambs (Judge: J Nisbet, Sorn Mains, Sorn). Champion – T Laird and Son, Sunnyside/Carbello, New Cumnock, with a pen of three end of March-born Texel cross lambs by a Scrogtonhead ram. Reserve – Kelsie Guild, Laight, New Cumnock, with a pen of three end of March-born prime lambs by a Beltex lamb. Pen of three lambs out of Blackface ewes, three Blackface wedders, three Texel cross lambs – T Laird and Son. Three any other breed lambs – K Guild.

Bluefaced Leicester (Judge: A Lockhart, Laggan Park, Moniaive, Thornhill). Champion and reserve – S Park, SP Dalpeddar, Sanquhar. Supreme was a ram lamb by the S1 Forebrae, a tup used on loan from brother John which is his first shearling for the Kelso Ram Sales, out of a ewe by a £5000 Alwinton. Reserve was a ewe lamb by a P10 Cretlevane bought at Carlisle in 2021, out of a home-bred ewe. Ram, ewe – A and A Kirkpatrick, Barr, Sanquhar. Tup lamb, ewe lamb, group – S Park. Gimmer – D Bryson, Grassmillees Way, Mauchline.

Scotch Mule (Judge: A Lockhart, Laggan Park). Champion and reserve – J Guild, Laight, Cumnock. Champion was a ewe lamb bred by Robert McKie, Finniness, that was bought privately and shown by grand-daughter Kelsie. Reserve was a gimmer bought last year from Tower that had won at Livescot and this year stood champion at Ayr and New Cumnock. It was shown by grand-daughters Mollie and Kelsie Guild.

Texel (Judge: P Gray, Sornbeg, Galston). Champion – R and J Hamilton, Mid Shawtonhill, Chapelton, Strathaven, with a one-crop ewe by an Easterseat ram bought at Lanark, out of a home-bred ewe. First at Chapelton. Reserve – Jenna Ballantyne, East Cauldcoats, Strathaven, with a ewe lamb by Noresk Felix bred from a Straidarran gimmer bought at the January Gems sale. Regular prize winner all year. Shearling ram, ram lamb, gimmer, ewe lamb, group – J Ballantyne. Ewe – R and J Hamilton.

Beltex (Judge: P Gray, Sornbeg). Champion – J Hamilton, Mid Shawtonhill with Mid Shawtonhill Jane, a gimmer by Clary Flyboy out of Shawtonhill Dottie. A full sister to last year's inter-breed champion here, she was champion at East Kilbride and reserve at Newmills this year. Reserve – J and D Hodge, Dykes, Cumnock, with the second prize gimmer to the champion, a home-bred entry by the Carlisle purchase, Broughton Enriches out of Withytrees Billington, bought at the flock dispersal. First outing. Ram – J Ballantyne, East Cauldcoats. Tup lamb, ewe, gimmer, group – J Hamilton. Ewe lamb – J and D Hodge.

Any other breed (Judge: P Gray, Sornbeg). Champion – J and D Hodge, Dykes, Auchenleck, with Hodges Havanna, a gimmer by a home-bred son of Powerful Brutus, sold last year to Craig Robertson. The dam is a daughter of the foundation female, Grahams Essexgirl. Reserve from the same home was Hodges Gold Dust, a one-crop ewe out of Grahams Essexgirl and sired by Pistyll Empire. Inter-breed champion at Catrine and breed leader at New Cumnock Show. Both will be sold at the flock dispersal later in the year. Tup, tup lamb, ewe lamb – J Hamilton, Mid Shawtonhill. Beef cattle (Judge: J Nisbet, Sorn Mains). Champion – Ramsay and Carolyn Stevenson, Sunnyside and Carbello Farm, Cumnock, with Belle, a January-born Limousin cross heifer by Springs Sly out of a Limousin cross cow bought from West Thomaston. First at Dunblane and Coylton. Reserve from the same home was Jeronimix, a yearling bullock by the British Blue sire, Almeley Jeronimo, out of a Lodge Hamlet-sired Limousin cross cow bought from Morris Wyllie. All classes – R and C Stevenson.
