A FIELD of Firefox spring barley from Ian Steven, Beley, St Andrews, won the top award and the Danskin’s Cup in the Fife Agricultural Association’s annual crop competition.
The event, which attracted a strong entry, was judged by Duncan Wilson, Hutchinsons Agronomy (winter and spring barley); Chris Leslie, Cloud Farming, East Lothian (wheat); and James Hopkinson, Arable Ventures, Angus (winter and spring oats) who travelled throughout much of Fife, with committee members, for a busy day inspecting the fields.
