Local farmer Iain Millar, Port of Menteith, had his work cut out at Doune and Dunblane Show, not only as the inter-breed beef, sheep, and heavy horse judge but also the overall individual and groups official.
However, he had no hesitation in giving the winning slap to the beef leader, CC Cindy, a 22-month-old Limousin cross heifer from Wilson Peters, Crieff.
“She’s a walking block of meat with a great top on her, presence, style and a leg in each corner. She’s a fantastic animal with plenty of length, depth and width,” said Mr Millar, who found his reserve in the Clydesdale mare, Fordelhill Limelight from Scott Greenhill.
No stranger to the show ring the black heifer landed the same honours at Alyth Show, following reserve beef inter-breed titles at Angus and West Fife and a section championship at Fife Show.
