Merlo used the Royal Highland Show this week to showcase its new TurboFarmer 30.7 telescopic handler.

This new compact model is a much-anticipated successor to the popular Merlo P32.6 and has a neat profile at 2m wide and 2.1m high, meaning it can reach the places that many other handlers in its class cannot.

Fitted with a full-size Merlo ROPS and FOPS cab, there's also two additional cab specs as alternative to the standard – the L model had a low cab option of just 1.98m and for those looking for extra comfort, the patented Merlo hydraulic cab suspension is optional on the standard cabs.

Despite its size, it does pack a punch. Power is from a 100hp Deutz TCD four-cylinder Stage V diesel and it has almost 7m of reach and a three-tonne lift capacity. In common with all other TurboFarmers, the 30.7 features EPD managed hydrostatic drive with a maximum speed of 40kmh plus standard load-sensing, flow-sharing powerful hydraulics giving the operator the ability to make simultaneous multiple boom movements at once.

The addition of and optional 10.1-inch monitor in the cab for demanding work-loads also offers the operator complete control of hydraulic oil flow rate, working parameter adjustments and a digital live load chart maximises safety.
