Triple the entries were forward for this year's Young Farmers overwintered show and sale of 41 cattle at Dingwall and Highland Marts, Dingwall, along with a new centre record price for a young farmers beast.
Setting that new high price of £3600 was the pre-sale champion, a roan home-bred Limousin cross heifer from Adam MacKillop, Cairnglass, weighing 370kg. This heifer was knocked down to Kenny MacIver, who plans to show her on the North summer show circuit.

Bullocks (27) and heifers (14) averaged 325.0p and 389.6p respectively.
Judge, David Murdo Wright, found his runner up in a Charolais cross heifer from Fergus Forbes, which was also awarded the best Charolais sired calf, which Mr Wright went on to buy for £2200. Fergus also won the best profit margin which was £860 for his heifer.

Bullocks sold to 372.0p and £1900 for the overall unhaltered champion, a 525kg Charolais cross from Callum Maciver, 9 Ordale, Muir of Ord.
Best daily live weight gain was awarded to a Limousin bullock from Aimee Campbell, which had gained 235kg from its purchase weight.
Carrie Hamilton was awarded the best stock person on the day.
