The Kirriemuir Ploughing Match, held at Crieff Farm by kind permission of the Easson family, saw father and son duo Gordon and Andrew Beattie both triumph in their respective classes. With Gordon taking home the prestigious overall champion title come the days end.

A superb turnout on a crisp autumn morning showcased some exceptional ploughing in mixed conditions. With near 60 competitors across the eight classes, including a number of first-time entrants eager to hone their skills, the field was full of action.

As the prizes were awarded, outgoing chair Colin Duncan remarked in his speech: "It’s been a fantastic turnout, with many familiar faces, and it’s great to see some young people getting involved as well. We always encourage the younger generation to come out and give it a try."

He then gave special recognition to Struan Trewatha for his impressive ploughing skills at just 15 years old, reinforcing the societies desire to entice the new generation.
