On Sunday, October 20, Ayr Market hosted a SAYFC’s National Beef Cattle Dressing Competition, attracting teams from across Scotland, showcasing their talents in preparing cattle to show ring standards.
Throughout the morning, participants collaborated to wash, clip, and groom their cattle; generously provided by James Nisbett, aiming to highlight their best features and impress judges Cameron and Rachel Jackson.
After a lively morning of competition, the Kilmaurs YFC team, made up of Ross Montgomerie and Andrew Nisbet, emerged victorious in the overall competition. In the junior category, the title was claimed by Ruby Simpson and Rory Wood of Strathmore JAC, who also secured third place overall.
