Welsh breeder, Shaun Richards, Pen-y-Borough, Eldroth, produced the top price of 6000gns at a working sheep dog sale at Skipton.

This October 2022 black and white bitch, Gem is a daughter of Welshman Ross Games’ Preseli Bronk, out of fellow South Wales breeder Neil Redman’s Oaktree Lynn.

The same home took 1900gns for the 13-month-old home-bred black, white and mottled bitch, Pen-Y-Borough Tizz, which sold to Geoff Wilson, Malham.

Next best at 5600gns was a February 2022 black and white bitch, Netherbeck Jenny from Colin Birkett. By Frank Hickson’s Chase, out of the home-bred Millie. This one was knocked down to John Marsh, Eastbourne.

William Bell, Kelbrook, took 5000gns for his March 2020, black, white and tan dog, Mac. Bred by Frank Ainsworth, he sold to Mark Dale, Goole.

Valley View Finn realised 4800gns for Janine Ashworth. This 16-month-old home-bred son of Kevin Evans’ Hendre Sam, a Welsh Nursery champion and multiple open trials winner. Out of Janine’s Dairada Penny he sold to a telephone bidder.

Scottish buyer, Ben Edmondson, Eskdalemuir, Lockerbie, gave 4100gns for the May, 2022 black and white bitch, Penny from Brynley Williams, Holywell, Flintshire.

Richard Crowe, from Michael on the Isle of Man, took 3550gns for his 18-month-old black and white bitch, Intack Bee. By Michael Longton’s Rooten Brook Max, he now travels to Wales with G Howells, Carmarthen.

The same home took 3100gns with a fully home-bred May 2023 black and white bitch, Elsye, purchased by Auchenchey Ltd, Dumfries.

Scottish borders producer, Robin Bell, Hawick achieved 3500gns for the July 2023-born red and white bitch, Isla. By DM Bevan’s Noadevind Nyal, out of Frank Hickson’s Dollar. This one sold to SC Barron, Thirsk.

Making 3000gns was the May 2023 red white and mottled bitch, Wholestone Red from Jack Haigh, Golcar. By Lynn Howells’ Boss, she was knocked down to John Atkinson, Escrick, York.

The unbroken section topped at 1700gns for Liam O’Malley, Lixwm, Hollywell. This 16-week-old pup is a son of Kevin Evans’ Welsh Nursery and 2024 international champion, Kemi Jack. Robin Bell, took this one home.
