Pöttinger has introduced two new machines to its range, aimed at boosting efficiency and precision in fieldwork. The aerosem VT 5000 DD and Aerosem VT 6000 DD seed drills, now featuring the profiline comfort control system, and the plano VT 6060 stubble cultivator are designed to enhance performance across a range of farming tasks.
The Aerosem VT 5000 DD and 6000 DD, with working widths of 5m and 6m, now include the profiline comfort control system. This system, linked to the tractor’s load-sensing hydraulic connection, allows operators to control all hydraulic functions via a hydraulic block. With a press of a button on the control terminal or using section control and variable rate control (VRC), farmers can manage seed drilling with ease.
A key feature of the profiline system is the automatic regulation of coulter pressure and tool positioning, ensuring efficient and accurate operation. The system also allows for tool adjustments based on time or distance travelled, giving operators the flexibility to fine-tune performance.
The headland management function further improves efficiency by stopping and restarting the drill precisely at field boundaries. Whether controlled manually or through automated signals from a task controller, this ensures a smooth workflow throughout different conditions.
Another advantage is the integration of task controller geo, which enables the use of application maps. This automatically adjusts factors such as working depth, coulter pressure, and seed or fertiliser rates to match the specific needs of each site, optimising resource use and improving crop growth.
Pöttinger’s latest offering, the Plano VT 6060 Stubble Cultivator, is a six-metre machine built for shallow tillage. It is equipped with six rows of tines, offering solutions for groundwater conservation, erosion prevention, and mechanical weed control.
The Plano VT 6060 features 37 tines, arranged symmetrically over two frame sections. This prevents side pull and maintains a consistent cutting depth. With a tine spacing of 16.2cm and ground clearance of 73cm, it performs well even in difficult conditions.
Its tines are designed to withstand overloads up to 200kg, ensuring they maintain their rigidity and cutting depth during use. The cultivator can be customised with shares such as the 200mm durstar plus duck foot shares for shallow tillage or 50mm durastar chisel points for deeper, more intensive work. Both options are wear-resistant, adding to the machine’s durability and effectiveness in the field.
Hydraulic depth adjustment ensures precise ground tracking, with the depth controlled by single or dual jockey wheels. This depth is transferred to the rear roller, ensuring consistent operation.
The Plano VT 6060 offers a range of optional features, such as a knife roller for shredding organic material or a front board for levelling. Multiple rear roller configurations provide flexibility, helping farmers achieve the desired soil consolidation for different tasks.
To improve traction, the machine can be fitted with traction control, which transfers up to 1100kg to the tractor’s rear axle. This helps reduce slippage and improves grip. Farmers can also reduce field passes by applying catch crops during tillage using the optional tegosem tank, which promotes soil health while saving time.
Both the Aerosem VT seed drills and the Plano VT 6060 stubble cultivator provide farmers with advanced, customisable tools for arable farming.
Their focus on precision, efficiency, and wear-resistant components makes them a reliable choice for year-round operations, whether planting or cultivating.
