An investigation has been launched after 40 sheep were stolen from a farm in Fossoway near Kinross earlier this year.
It’s unclear exactly when the theft took place but 20 lambs and 20 ewes were taken from the area at some point between Monday, July 8 and Wednesday, July 31. The sheep are believed to be worth an estimated £5,400.
The incident was reported to police on Monday, August 26 after local enquiries were made to ensure they hadn’t gone missing or simply wandered off on their own.
Police are now looking to establish what happened to them and are appealing for any information that could help them discover where they are now.
Constable Ben Samson said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened to the sheep and we are appealing for anyone with information which could assist our investigation to get in touch.
“If members of the public saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area between the dates the sheep were taken we would urge you to come forward.
“Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference CR/0329442/24. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
