Thousands of visitors came from far and wide for the 2024 Wensleydale Show on Saturday, enjoying a packed schedule of high quality livestock, classic vehicles and local produce.
The marquees on the showground, high above Leyburn, survived all that Storm Lilian could throw at them the day before, and apart from a lunchtime downpour, Saturday's crowds and exhibitors saw bright but blustery conditions.
Organisers had employed a new car parking and security company in a bid to avoid the traffic jams of previous events, and with the showground busy from early on, it appeared their efforts had paid off.
Popular attractions included classic cars and motorbikes, which paraded to and from the main ring in the morning, and an extraordinary line-up of tractors from across the agricultural eras, which lined-up for inspection late in the afternoon.
The livestock classes were hotly contested, with the standard as high as ever. The supreme sheep championship trophy was taken home by the Stones family of Nun Cote Nook Farm, Marrick, near Richmond, whose North Country Cheviot Park type gimmer shearling topped the judging.

Taking the supreme dairy title and being named best animal on the showfield was Washfold Winnifred 17 EX92 of Metcalfe Farms.
Other entertainment was provided by the motorcycle stunt act of Jez Avery, while the horticulture and produce tents were packed with entries, and Leyburn Band provided the music.
