A TRACTOR crashed into a verge, splitting from a trailer leaving bales of hay scattered across the road.
The green tractor crashed into the side of the verge of the A350, becoming stuck in the gap while the trailer it was carrying – full of hay – had topped over.
Bales of hay were strewn across the A350 north of Shaftesbury on the border with Wiltshire.
The road was closed for “several hours” while the hay was cleared up, a spokesman for Wiltshire Police said.

He added: “At around 6.30pm on Tuesday, we responded to a report of an overturned tractor on the A350 on the border with Dorset, resulting in hay blocking the road.
“The road was closed for several hours to allow for recovery.
“There were no injuries.”
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service did not attend the crash.
