Lincoln Proteins has announced the acquisition of Dundas Chemical Company.
Since 2021, Dundas Chemical Company operated as a joint venture between the Bogie family and Lincoln Proteins, who have had a close working relationship for over 35 years.
The new development means Lincoln Proteins are now the sole owners of Dundas Chemical Company. The Bogie family will continue to be involved in the day to day running of the business. The family will also retain ownership of the business’ transport fleet and oversee the uplifting of fallen stock.
Dundas Chemical Company has been in operation since 1909 and the Bogie family have been to the forefront of developments in the Scottish rendering industry for four generations with a long and proud history in servicing both large and smaller-sized abattoir businesses and in developing and providing a fallen stock service to both Scottish farmers and those in the north of England.

Managing director and CEO of Lincoln Proteins, Gary Hancock, said: “As a long established and experienced specialist company Lincoln Proteins is committed to supporting the Scottish farming and agricultural community as well as the Scottish meat sector and has plans to invest and grow the business into the future focusing on efficiency and sustainability”
Significant investment has been made at both the Dundas Chemical Company’s Dumfries and Motherwell sites over the last 15 years.

Managing director and CEO of Dundas Chemical Company, John Bogie, said “The Bogie family have had a very proud tradition of servicing our customers since 1909. When we decided to pass on the ownership of the company, we wanted to ensure that the new owners would continue to provide the excellent service that Dundas is recognised for. Lincoln Proteins is a family business just like ours, with a history and previous experience of acquiring and developing businesses.
"We are confident that Lincoln Proteins will continue to make the significant investment that is required to grow the business and at the same time ensure it continues to meet all regulatory requirements.
"We now look forward to working with the new owners.”
