Ayrshire Food Hub will explore how utilising farm data can assist in making informed decisions to enhance the profitability and sustainability of a dairy farm business.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30, at Ayrshire Food Hub, Crossroads Roundabout, Hurlford, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.

The meeting will address:

• Types and quality of data that can be integrated into decision-making to achieve business objectives.

• Main sources of data used by farmers and their teams for management decisions;

• Costs associated with heifer replacements.

• Data obtainable from robotic systems and its application in business decisions.

• Data-driven innovations in farm practices and associated cost savings.

Dinner will be provided upon arrival at 6:30pm.

Laura Grieve, a senior consultant from Owen Farm Services, will lead a discussion on data extraction and its role in aiding farm decision-making.

Jim Currie from LELY (UK) will also participate, discussing data extraction from robotic milking systems.

Low Ballees Farm, located near West Kilbride, Ayrshire, in South West Scotland, has been operated by the Campbell family for 95 years. The farm houses 130 Holstein Friesians milked year-round using a robotic system, complemented by zero grazing cutting of forage, silage, wholecrop cereal and barley production.
