A new lay out was well received at Newtown St Boswells and District Farmers Show, where Lexi Redpath’s Welsh section B pony, Coedenddrew Chevalier, took the overall championship.

Judge Ian McKie found his reserve in the hunter, Rachan Wonderful Westend Boy, ridden by Abbie Riddell.

Champion sheep was a North Country Cheviot ewe from Philiphaugh Estate which was places ahead of a Texel shearling from Glen Wilson.

A field of wheat from D Maxwell, Faughhill, topped the cropping section.
