Wild boars have been causing havoc in and around Loch Ness where residents said they have had gardens dug up and livestock killed.
A local resident west of Inverness said: “Ever since they have taken down acres and acres of trees, we have had wild boars coming down looking for a new habitat. The last six months we have had our gardens destroyed and I am having to install an electric fence to protect my lawn as it has been dug up by the creatures.”
Another local smallholder had to sell all of her sheep due to the rampant nature of the boars. “I kept losing lambs because of it and now it is no longer financially viable to keep my sheep,” she said.
