As we enter the month of May we look into the pence per litre (ppl) rate offered to dairy farmers from various milk processors.
Arla UK have confirmed the price for conventional and organic milk will increase by 0.45ppl to 40.45ppl and by 1.34ppl to 49.98ppl respectively.

Arla Foods amba board director, and Arla farmer, Arthur Fearnall stated: “Global milk supplies continue to be slightly lower, retail sales continue to rise and commodity markets are stable. In the UK, the organic milk price increase is driven by growing demand. Overall, the out is stable.”
First Milk have announced a price increase of 0.75ppl, taking the manufacturing standard ppl to 39.5ppl, including member premium.
Müller have confirmed that their advantage scheme providers will remain with the current price of 37.5ppl throughout May. With 36.5ppl offered for a standard litre.
