In awe of the young people who have gone above and beyond in supporting RSABI throughout the last 12 months. The Huxtable Award, created in memory of Richard Huxtable, was presented by Sharon and Mel Huxtable to a number of members from SAYFC on the evening of the SAYFC Five Star Awards Ceremony.
Rewarded for achievement included Emma Gray, who in memory of her late father, managed to raise £2600 after completing a skydive. Also recognised were a group of SAYFC young farmers who gathered a total of £4600 after cycling 165 miles in three days as they ventured from Aviemore to Biggar.
Carol McLaren is the chief executive of RSABI and touched on the efforts made by the young people: “We are incredibly grateful for the outstanding efforts that Emma and the young farmer cyclists have gone through to support RSABI.”
All money raised will go into research carried out by RSABI as they promote practical, emotional, and financial support within the Scottish agricultural industry.
