On some of the metrics included SRUC excelled with a top UK score for income from industry and a top three position in terms of citations of our research and teaching.
Moreover, SRUC was named the top university in Scotland and is in the top ten in the UK in the Young University Rankings. The accomplishment comes just a few years after SRUC joined the list of top 500 higher education institutions in the world for the first time in 2020.
The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings spotlight the best universities across the globe that are 50 years old or younger. Regarded as the most balanced and comprehensive global ranking, the ranking uses performance metrics covering the full range of core activities for research-intensive universities: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.
“Maintaining our high rankings and receiving recognition in key metrics is a testament to SRUC's dedication to excellence and our commitment to contributing to Scotland's natural economy,” said Professor Jamie Newbold, provost and deputy principal at SRUC. “We take pride in not just our position in the rankings, but also in the specific areas where we excel, showcasing the breadth and depth of our work.”
