It was another award-winning Highland Show for Gordon Webster and Gordon Smith, of Guildy Den Farm, Monikie, Angus, who took home the supreme milker with Guilden Elma.
Following on for victory as best goatling last year, the goat won supreme on its first outing as an adult. This home-bred goat was sired by Guilden Brison and out of Guilden Elm and recorded six litres of milk over a 24-hour period.
The champion Boer goat from M and M Ross
Reserve champion milker was from Hannah Campbell, Bathgate, with the British dairy goat, Capitol Freja. She is by Homeacres Hugo and out of Capitol Artemis. This four-year-old had already won the Angus and West Fife shows this year with the productive milker recording 4.7 litres of milk 430 days into her lactation, having not kidded since spring, 2022.
The goatling championship was another win by Mr Webster and Mr Smith with Guilden Helena, a British Saanan by Ashedene Meadowmower and out of Guilden Hilary.
Meanwhile, Beth Fairley, from North Lanarkshire, won reserve goatling for the brown-and-white Ballingall Roxy, by Linnavon Linnaeus out of Ballingall River.

Ms Fairly also took the prizes for the champion and reserve kids, with the supreme going to the Anglo-Nubian, Ballingall Tiree, which is by Marsh Valley Apollo and out of Ballingall Tawny. Ballingall Rani took reserve – she's a British Toggenburg by Guilden Ginkgo and out of Ballingall Ruca.
It was a second year of success for Brucklay Harmony, brought out by Aylswood Rare Breeds, which was made champion pygmy again. This seven-year-old white-and-brown goat was bred by Claire Bailey, and is by Moorview Hysopp out of Brucklay Bess.

Reserve pygmy was Agnes Aitken's Hillrun Honor. This two-year-old is by Boningale Bruin and out of Hillrun Gaynor, this was its first outing to the Highland.
The Boer goat competition was won by M and M Ross, from Balmedie, who took supreme with Balmedie Hope. Their two-year-old is by Caistealcnoc Eddie and out of Balmedie Dancer and won best goatling last year. Reserve, also from the Ross team, was Balmedie Ivy who shares the same sire as the champion and was out of Balmedie Ellen.

Finally, after a number of years absence, Angora goats made their return to the Highland. Taking home the championship was Guardswell Farm with Guardswell Damson, by Linden Hubble and out of Crookabeck Angel.

On the farm’s first time showing, they also took reserve with Guardswell Alder, also by Lundon Hubble and out of Crookabeck Angel.
