A first for OFC, saw the newly appointed Chair, Will Evans, announce in his closing remarks that the theme for next year’s conference will zone in on the topic, ‘Now is the time for diversity’.
“As farmers, we all recognise the importance of diversity, whether that is shifting from monocultures and single crops, to reflecting greater diversity in the representation of our workforce.

Every farm is short-staffed and there are lots of people out there who would be assets to farmers, but we need to start better promoting farming as an exciting place to work and reflecting the wealth of different backgrounds, races, religions, and sexualities within it, if we want to bring people along with us.”
