NFU Scotland’s chief executive, Scott Walker, has resigned from the organisation. Mr Walker had been in the post for 11 years after succeeding James Withers as CEO in 2011.
The Dundonian had been with the NFUS for 29 years, joining as Commodity Director in 1994 before promotion to Director of Policy in 2004.

A statement from NFUS on Mr Walker’s departure is expected in the coming days. The Union has endured a significant number of staff losses in the last 12 months with around a third of staff leaving for new jobs.
