A third series of Clarkson’s Farm is currently in production and should hit Amazon Prime subscriber's TV in early 2023, the show's producers said this week.

The smash hit series, first aired in June, 2021, on Amazon and was rated as one of the streaming service's most popular shows – and it was also voted a hit by many farmers because of it chimed with the trials and tribulations of real-life on the farm.

The programme follows the former Top Gear presenter, Jeremy Clarkson, as be builds up a farming business on his 1000-acre Oxfordshire farm, which be bought in 2019. Renaming the farm ‘Diddly Squat’, Mr Clarkson tried his hand at growing barley, rapeseed and wheat, as well as cattle and sheep.

On joining the farming fraternity, the journalist pulled no punches on the reality of farming and recorded a profit of only £100 after his first year of trading.

Returning for series three will be farm worker, Kaleb Cooper and advisor, (Cheerful) Charlie Ireland, who Mr Clarkson admitted manage to keep the business on the right tracks.

As filming for the third season gets underway, the second is set to show the introduction of new animals and crops, Jeremy’s dealings with the local council as he attempts to diversify his operation with a restaurant; and Kaleb, yet again, saving the day on numerous occasions.

It will also examine the impact of the current economy on British farmers.

Following on from that, the third season will follow the team as they pursue the untapped opportunities of the currently un-farmed 513 acres on the estate.

"I’m genuinely thrilled that we are doing a third season of Clarkson’s Farm. I’ve had some great new ideas, all of which have made Charlie, Lisa and Kaleb deeply unhappy," said Mr Clarkson.
