John Manners yard has hundreds of combines which allows them to source parts for nearly every make or model of combine used in the UK.
The farm-based family business, specialising in recovering and recycling combine harvesters and other large agricultural machinery has for 30 years been at the forefront of recovering agricultural plant throughout the UK and operates out of Alnwick, in Northumberland.
The price of new combines has jumped up sharply in recent years with many machines hundreds of thousands of pounds. As a result, lots of cereal growers are opting to keep their older machines in working order.
This makes businesses such as John Manner vital as many dealerships stop supplying parts for older machines which have been discontinued.
In the heat of harvest when there is a breakdown, parts are needed fast to keep the combine cutting, which is why having such a large stock of retired machines is vital. From Shetland to Cornwall, the Manners' have been supplying parts to keep the harvest rolling on.
