The Butcher Wolfpack of Germany has won the World’s Butcher challenge, held in Sacramento in the United States.
Each national team had three hours to turn a side of beef, a side of pork, a whole lamb carcase and five chickens into a themed display of value-added cuts, requiring superior knife skills, value adding flair and presentation smarts. Second place was the Makani Australian Butcher Team, with Hellers Sharp Blacks of New Zealand in third.

"It's hard to describe this feeling – it's the end of a long, hard time training for this event," said Dirk Freyberger, team captain of Germany. "For us, it was so important to show the world our craft of butchery, and we did just that."
The GB team was first placed in the best pork produce category. There was also a Welsh Craft Butchery Team which was sponsored by Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales.
