Jen Craig has resigned from her position as the National Sheep Association's Scottish regional chair.
Ms Craig has been in the role since February 2019, and recently steered the organisation through a successful Scotsheep at Over Finlarg near Dundee.
The Lanarkshire hill sheep farmer this week confirmed her resignation via her twitter page, posting: “I’ll be with my dogs and sheep, where I probably should have stayed.”
NSA chief executive Phil Stocker said: “It is with regret that Jen Craig has resigned with immediate effect as chair of NSA Scotland. Jen has done an incredible job steering the region through some difficult times during this period over the last four years and the NSA will make sure her efforts have not been wasted.
"It would not be right to go into the details behind her decision, but suffice to say that Jen still has the interests of NSA at heart and we now need to continue the progress she has made.”
In a personal statement to her supporters, Ms Craig is understood to have mentioned 'serious ongoing issues' within NSA Scotland that 'a small minority refuse to acknowledge' before going on to state that the situation 'had made it impossible for her to continue' in the role of Scottish regional chair.
