BBC SCOTLAND'S popular rural reality show 'This Farming Life' is coming back for a sixth series – and right this instant, its producers are looking for Scottish farmers to take part.

Producer Carys Evans told The Scottish Farmer that the show is particularly interested in focussing on farms that are facing challenges in the year ahead, so the show can follow their journey and, hopefully, help celebrate their successes.

Given that there will be few agricultural businesses not facing a difficult year, with spiralling costs, labour shortages and all manner of other upheavals, the show may once again be a powerful way to inform the wider public about the realities of a life in agriculture.

Ms Evans said: "Are you new to farming or part of a generation that is developing new ways to farm? Over the next year do you have any exciting challenges ahead? Has farming life become more challenging during these difficult times?

"Waiting on planning permission, relocating to a new farm, building a shop, creating a new side business, training new help? We want to hear from you!"

Filming is scheduled to start in late September. Anyone wishing to be considered for the series should get in touch with Ms Evans through her email at Carys.H.Evans.Ext@bbc.co.uk
