Two new members have been appointed onto the Board of Trustees at Holstein UK at the society's first in-person agm since 2019.

The agm, staged last week in Dumfriesshire as part of the Holstein UK Celebration, also said farewell to two retiring representatives – David Yates, Scotland South, and David Jones, West Midlands.

Following the end of his first term on the Board, Stephen Hill was re-elected for another term of four years.

Jimmie Baillie, was elected as new trustee for Scotland South alongside Claire Jones for West Midlands.

Mr Baillie, who manages the 250-head Dalserf herd at Over Dalserf, Larkhall, with his wife Isabel and their two sons, James and Gavin in South Lanarkshire, will represent Scottish Club members and is looking forward to further promoting the services provided by the Cattle Information Service.

Mrs Jones who runs the Wiltor herd alongside her husband David and son Matthew, has been an active member of Holstein UK for more than 30 years and hopes to bring new ideas to the Society in order to attract new members and retain the current membership. Her focus is also on adding value to being pedigree and making full use of the Society’s services.

John Jamieson of the Firth herd from Upper Locharwoods, Dumfries, remains president.
