Agrovista’s Dundee depot is reaping the benefits following a substantial upgrade two years ago and, in particular, its sprayer provision service which now covers all aspects of sales and maintenance.
“We can offer our customers new sprayers from several leading manufacturers, a vast range of parts and service plan agreements to minimise unplanned and potentially costly downtime," commented engineering manager Wayne Donald.
“We carry out all major work on site, but we also spend a lot of time on farm doing smaller jobs and checking sprayers for the National Sprayer Testing Scheme, and cover all areas from Edinburgh northwards.”
The depot, which is sited at West Adamston Farm, Muirhead, also has a new parts counter that benefits from advanced stock management software and supplies a wider range of spares than before.
Customers can obtain face-to-face advice and the service is proving especially popular during busy spraying times when every hour counts. The depot also despatches parts to all areas of the UK usually within 48 hours – including valves, filters, pumps, fittings and hoses – and carries a large stock of nozzles from leading brands including Hypro, Syngenta, Teejet, Billericay and Lechler.
Neil Macleod, farm manager at the 1600ha Southesk Farms business based near Brechin, added: “The Agrovista sprayer depot is invaluable to Southesk Farms due to its locality and the range of services it offers.
“It holds the franchises for a number of leading sprayer manufacturers and as such, we have purchased a total of four sprayers over the years. The latest is a new Chafer Interceptor self-propelled sprayer bought in 2019 following a number of demonstrations of the machine organised by Agrovista.
“The knowledge and technical ability of the service engineers is exemplary, and Agrovista has invested heavily in a robust range of spare parts, which gives extra confidence when choosing a new machine."
