On Monday, Borderway Auction Mart, Carlisle, hosted the North West Limousin Breeders' Club and the Border British Blue Club's annual show and sale of primestock.
Morgan Helliwell judged both sections and found his supreme in the Blue winner a 762kg heifer from Messrs Twentyman, Osborne. She is by Osborne Harvey, out of a British Blue cross Limousin dam, and sold to the judge for 280p per kg or £2133.
Reserve overall was the champion Limousin, a black heifer weighing 723kg from Messrs Studholme, Nealhouse, Carlisle. A Norman Lumberjack daughter she went on to make 301.5p or £2179.
