Newton Stewart
Some seven spring lambs forward from M Walker, Barwinnock sold to £121 and 242.6p for a Dorset, to average 240.3p, while the 1069 hoggs levelled at 242.4p and topped at £132 for Texels from A and E Paton and Son, Millenderdale or to 285.4p for more of the same from G Hurcomb, Bankhead.
Prices amongst the Blackfaces peaked at £115 from J and IH McFadzean, Glenvernoch, whilst Drannandow Farms led per kg at 261.1p.
Cast sheep were led by the Paton family at Millenderdale with a Texel tup achieving £200 and ewes making £132 for Suffolk crosses from RJ Manson and Partners, Auchleach.
Wooler
The 604 hoggs were led by a Texel hogg donated by M Hindmarsh, Linden Hill Head Farm to The Ukraine Refugee Appeal to top the sale at £160 when selling to C Siswick and to B Gray, C Snowdon, A Atkinson for the same price, with the sale raising in total of £1006.
Among the cast ewes, the sale topped on two occasions with Texels from Calum McAlpine, Auchencrow Mains and then from JS and P Fleming, Lochside Farm achieving £177 each, while rams sold to £157 for a Beltex from Craig Mellor, Annstead Farm.
Forfar
Limousins led Lawrie and Symington's sale of prime cattle with bullocks making 264p and £1737.12 for a 658kg entry from Nethermyres, to average 249p, while heifers sold to 268p for a 540 kg Limousin from Nethermyres again and £1640.84 for a 646kg animal from Gask to level at 255p.
The 399 hoggs achieved 334.1p for a pen of three 41kg Beltex from D Smith, Scobshaugh and to £138 for a pen of four 43kg Beltex from CL Wylie, Balbrydie, to average 243p with an SQQ of 255p.
Texels from Fallaw led the cast ewes at £170.
Huntly
United Auctions sold 1129 hoggs to average 229.6p and sold to 272p for 39kg Beltex crosses from Followsters, Keith and to £130 for 55kg similar animals from Dunscroft, Huntly.
Ewes reached a top of £248 for a Texel from Dunscroft, Huntly.
Stirling (Cale)
At Caledonian Marts' sale heifers reached 285p for a Limousin from DS and RC Taylor, Easter Ochtermuthill, Muthill and to £1724 for a Limousin from J Collier, Dullomuir, Fife, while bullocks sold to 285p for a Limousin again from Easter Ochtermuthill or £1755 for another of the same from J and N Kerr, Bankhead, Aberdour.
Bulls sold to 208p and £1565 for a Saler from J Martin, Swinlees, Dalry.
Some 35 Beef OTM’s forward averaged 168p, peaking at 215p for a Simmental from Darnbog Farms, Stirling and to £1550 for a Limousin from J and N Kerr, Bankhead, Aberdour, while dairy types cashed in at 146p and sold to 166p or £1130 from WA Hume and Co, Easter Clune, Dunfermline.
Top price among the calves and stirks was £260 paid to J Montgomery, Drumglass, Croy for a British Blue heifer calf, while dairy calves topped at £155 for a Friesian bull calf from AP Johnston and Sons, Blindburn, Sorn.
The firm also held their sale of prime hoggs which topped at 324p for a Texel was Kincaple Farm, Kincaple, and £140 for Texels from S and J E Andrew, Letter, to average 248p.
Topping the cast sheep was a Suffolk tup at £185 from S and J E Andrew, Letter, while ewes reached £166 for a pen of Texel crosses from D and DL Donaldson, Greenford.
Stirling (UA)
United Auctions' prime hogg sale cashed in 242.51p and reached £149 for Beltex from Easter Ochtermuthill or to 343p for Texels from Goddens.
The prime sheep sale was held in conjunction with the sale of 190 Cheviot hoggs on behalf of the North Country Cheviot Sheep Society, where the show was judged by George McFadzean, Woodhead of Mailer, who found his champion pen from T Howden, Stanley that realised £116 or 235.77p.
Reserve honours was awarded to Messrs Dawson, Calfward, selling their best at £115.50 or 267.98p.
Some 50 overwintered hoggs from Perthshire and District young farmers and Fife and Kinross association of young farmers were also sold, with the show judged by George McFadzean again and he awarded the championship to F Adam, Higholm for crosses making £126.
J Taylor, Easter Ochtermuthill stood reserve and realised £124.
Cherryfield led the cast ewes and rams with Texels making £248 and £200, respectively.
Thainstone
Aberdeen and Northern Marts' sale saw bullocks 232.7p having sold to 243p for a 595kg Limousin and £1469.40 for a 620kg Limousin from Newton of Drum, Drumoak.
Heifers cashed in at 234.3p and peaked at to 259p for a 600kg Limousin from Newton of Drum or £1620 for a 720kg Limousin from Mains of Elrick. Auchnagatt, while young bulls balanced out at 225.6p to top at 267p and £2082.60 for a 780kg Charolais from Cotton of Ovenstone, Kirkbuddo.
Beef finished cows averaged £1463.13 having reached a top price of £1930 on two occasions, firstly for a 936kg Limousin from Mains of Elrick, Auchnagatt and also for a 932kg Limousin from Easterside, Dunnottar, while beef feeding cows sold to £1570 for a 832kg Aberdeen-Angus from Prettycur Farm, Hillside, to average £1160.51.
The 3337 prime hoggs levelled at 234.3p and attained a top of 308.2p for 49kg Beltex and £172 for 58kg Beltex from Broadwater, Skene, while the 1103 cast sheep averaged £101.38 and sold to £260 for Beltex from Broadwater.
St Boswells
Bullocks and heifers levelled at 250p and 255p respectively at Harrison and Hetherington's weekly sale.
Heifers reached a top of £1872 and 302p from from Bee Edge, while bullocks sold to £1876.80 from Whitrighill and to 286p from Penston.
Mosstower and Standhill led the cast cattle at £1729.66 and 259p, respectively.
Prime hoggs balanced out at 245p with prices peaking at £149 for a Beltex from Crookston, which was donated to the Ukraine Appeal or to 305.6p for another of the same from Wester Ulston.
Cast ewes peaked at £151 for a pen of Texel crosses from James Neil and Son, Runninghburn, while tups sold to £149 for another of the same from J and J Campbell, Wedderlie Farmhouse.
Lanark
Limousins from Messrs Dickinson, Brockwoodlees Farm, Canonbie led all prime cattle sections with heifers making 286p and £1731, while bullocks attained 278p and £1760.
Beef cows sold to £1700 or 220p for Limousins from Messrs Taylor Heatheryhall Farm, Biggar, while dairy types achieved £1375 from Messrs Frame, Craigthornhill Farm, Strathaven.
A much smaller show of 2435 prime hoggs topped at £170 for a Beltex from Sanderson, Biggarshields and to 393p for Texels from Struthers, Collielaw, to level at 266p with an SQQ of 276p.
The 1704 cast sheep reached a peak of £238 for Texels from Hartside.
Carlisle
A smaller show of 73 prime bulls achieved a new centre record at Harrison and Hetherington of £2433.32 paid for a 1016kg Limousin from Messrs Mulholland, Carlisle, while DA Harrison, Hill House, Wigton sold a 691kg Limousin cross at 289.5p.
Dairy bred bulls sold to £1475.33 for a 711kgs Friesian from Messrs Graham, Hillhead, Canonbie and to 220.50p for another of the sane from Messrs Dickinson, High House, Wigton.
Limousins led the prime cattle, with steers making £2009.41 for a 754kg animal from Messrs Bell, Hoddamtown, Lockerbie or to 278.50p from Messrs Studholme, Nealhouse Farm.
Heifers saw a day’s top of £1955 for a 723kg Limousin cross from Messrs Crichton, Loughrigg, Egremont and to 298.5p for a 609kgs from Messrs Ridley, Woodhall, Wigton.
Prime hoggs levelled at £117.68 with Alan Bowman, Brampton Fell donating a Mule hogg to the Ukrainian Refugee Appeal for £220 and out with the sale, prices peaked at £162 or 385.7p for Beltex from Tom and Julia Airey, New Grange, Dearham or to 405.7p for Beltex from Anne Little Hollands, Penton.
Texels from Braithwaite Hall led the cast ewes at £185.
Ayr
Craig Wilson Marts sold 1790 hoggs to average 255.8p and reach a top of £144 or 342.9p for a Beltex from Helen McLeish, Back O’Hill, while the 618 Blackface types peaked at £128 for a pen off Andrew Paton and Co, Craig Farm or 270.2p for a pen of 48 off John McWhirter, Linfairn Farm.
The 482 cast sheep sold to a top of £188 for a Texel cross ewe from WD Gilbert, Boag and tups attained £168 for a Texel from A and CB Miller, Baidlandhill.
The 12 prime cattle cashed in at 250.60p with a top price coming at 262p for a Limousin bullock and a Limousin heifer off Borland.
Castle Douglas
On Tuesday, Wallets Marts sold 1262 hoggs to average 254.5p with an SQQ of 257.9p, with the sale reaching a top price of £137.50 for Texels from Messrs Lockhart Lagganpark and 300p for Beltex from Gelston Castle Farms.
The 480 cast sheep attained £193 for Texel tups from Messrs Hair, Drumbreddan with Texel ewes to £157 again from Drumbreddan.
