Aberdeenshire farming duo, Neil and Stuart Barclay, Harestone, Insch, topped a select online sale of pedigree Charolais with a heifer selling for 9000gns.

The sale from the Harestone herd and Archie and John MacGregor's Allanfauld herd from Kilsyth, through Harrison and Hetherington, was topped by Harestone Paquita, a two-year-old which boasts some of the best genetics in the business with the sire Harestone Jaquard being a former Royal Highland Show champion, while the dam Harestone Felicity, by Glencoe Conrad, has bred two 10,000gns bulls at Stirling and a champion winner at Thainstone. Paquita sold in calf to Bostonia Richie, a bull bought in Ireland, to Damien McCaffrey, Omagh, Co Tyrone.

Lancashire breeders, Edward Fairhurst and Son, Bank End, Lawkland, bought the next two lead priced heifers at 8200gns and 7200gns. Her sire, Harestone Ronsard, is also a previous Royal Highland Show champion. Passionflower also sold due to Richie

Selling at 7200gns was Harestone Patricia, a heterozygous polled heifer by Harestone Nano, a bull bought privately in France bred from the Allanfauld Gambler daughter, Harestone Naomi, that has bred sons to £16,000 and £10,000.

Ben Radley, Loaningfoot, Dumfries, bought the lead priced lot from the Allanfauld herd, forking out 4000gns for Allanfauld Pomona, a March 2019-born heifer by the Goldies Elation son, Allanfauld Lachie, out of Allanfauld Malibu. She sold due to Harestone Oscar.
