The supreme later sold for the top price of 400p or £2208 to the judge, Ryan Briggs of Briggy’s Butchers, Jedburgh.
A 616kg Aberdeen-Angus heifer from D Dickinson, Brockwoodlees stood reserve and sold for 330p or £2033, to HA Black and Sons, Butchers, Stirling. Bullocks and heifers averaged 254p and 258p per kg, respectively.

The best bred bull, from Messrs Orr, Lomond Muir, was a 780kg Limousin which made 235p.
OTM’s balanced out at 140p with prices peaking at 183p for a Simmental from R Steel, Kepculloch, Balfron or to £1490 for a British Blue from Ferguson Bros, Gillandersland, Linlithgow.
Dairy types sold to 151p from J Craig, Carneil, Carnock and £940 from R Rodger, Knockraich, Fintry.
Prime lambs sold on Tuesday cashed in at 278p having sold to £156 for a pair of Beltex from Jimmy Taylor, Easter Ochtermuthill, Muthill or to 387p for Texel crosses from Upper Onston, Orkney.
Leading the cast ewes at £218 were Texels from B Carruth, High Auchensale, Kilbarchen, while tups attained £162 for more of the same from B and S Scrymgeour, Kinnaird.
