A gimmer from Paul Delves Bridgeview flock from Churchstoke, Powys, proved the star attraction at the Big Bang Export sale of pedigree Dutch Spotted and Suffolk females at Balmoral Park, Northern Ireland, when selling for the top price of 11,000gns.

His ET Suffolk, is the result of a flush from a ewe by Strathbogie Sirius and by Salopian Scuderia. An ET sister to a 2600gns ewe lamb sold to Solwaybank, she sold carrying a single by the 13,000gns Burnview Barracuda to Darragh McMenamin, buying for the Mullinvale flock from Co Lifford.

On the debit side, Mr Delves went to 8000gns for an ET ewe lamb from Dennis Taylor’s Ballynacannon flock from Coleraine. She is bred from a Lakeview Innuendo daughter and sired by the 26,000gns Birness Freedom.

Alastair Gault’s Forkins flock from Newtownabbey, enjoyed a cracking trade selling a half share of a gimmer for 7000gns with others at 6000gns and 4500gns.

His best, by Solwaybank King Williams, is bred from a ewe by Mullaghboy Goliath that is a sister to the 26,000gns McCoy. She sold carrying twins to the €44,000 Ballinatone Show Stopper, to Messrs Gurney, Coleraine.

Dennis Taylor bought Forkins’ lead gimmer at 6000gns – an ET sister to McCoy and several other big sellers. Bred from a ewe by Birness Bacardi, and by Mullaghboy Goliath, she also changed hands due with twins to Show Stopper.

Norman Robinson, Benrafton, Downpatrick, bought Mr Gault’s 4500gns ewe lamb which is an ET sister to a 18,000gns ram being a son of Birness Freedom and bred from a Forkins Fandango dam.

Andrew Wilson’s Shannagh and Castleisle flocks sold gimmer daughters of the 5000gns Limestone T-Rex out of Shannagh Resolve dams at 6500gns twice

The first changed hands with a pair to the 12,000gns Crewelands Frontline, to Mark Priestley, Seaforde.

Minutes later, Messrs Thompson, Ballybofey, bought the gimmer carrying twins to Limestone Another Level.

Darragh McMenamin, Mullinvale, took 5000gns for a gimmer from Co Armagh breeders, Messrs Kennedy, Collone. She is by Crewelands Captain Morgan and bred from a dam by Castleisle Carnage. The service sire was Birness Warrior.

Entries from Emma Allen’s Diamond flock from Drumclamph, Castlederg, led the Dutch Spotted trade at 8000gns and 4600gns.

Dearest was Carlaustan Eugenia a ewe lamb bred by Andy Beattie and Lauren Kennedy. She is by Tiptop Diablo, out of an imported dam and sold to Messrs Robinson, Letterkenny.

Messrs Bradley, Magherafelt, purchased the 4600gns Diamond Ellie, a ewe lamb by Drumhirk Decider out of Glencoy Cherry.
