A large show of quality was present at Craig Wilson Marts' weekly sale, which witnessed 825 prime lambs average 213.6p per kg and peak at £118 for Texels from A and F Baillie, Low Glasnick, with Beltex from C McMillan, Garheugh leading the pence per kg section at 231p.
Cast sheep were easily sold, realising £153 for Texel tups from Bridgehouse Farming Co, with Baltier Farming Ltd dominating the ewes with more of the same at £130.

Penrith
Penrith and District Farmers’ Mart held the weekly sale of 3763 prime lambs, where trade levelled at 231p per kg having topped at 314p for a 43kg Beltex cross from Messrs Hodgson, Woodfoot, and to £147 for a 67kg Texel from JM Todd, Southernby Hall.
Cast sheep cashed in at £92.14 and realised £198 for a pair of Texel ewes from Greenacres Farm, Aberdeen, with tups topping at £220 for a Charollais from Holme House.
Wooler
Harrison and Hetherington's weekly sale of primestock included a show of 928 lambs and 323 cast sheep, where trade peaked at £140 and 300p per kg for Beltex from Annstead.
The same home also led the cast sheep at £180 for a pair of Texel cross ewes.
Dumfries
A top of 255p per kg was attained among the prime cattle at C and D Auction Marts' sale from Burnside, Lochmaben, while OTM cattle hit £1298.60 for a Simmental from Cormaddie, and 177p for a Holstein from Drum.
The firm also held the sale of 862 prime lambs which cashed in at 224p having sold to £130 for Texels from Craigdarroch and 260p for more of the same from Carnavel.
Texels from Craigdarroch proved popular again, this time among the cast ewes which led the trade at £155.
Forfar
Limousins took the top prices at Lawrie and Symington's weekly sale, with bullocks reaching 251p per kg and £1611.42 for a 642kg entry from Nethermyres, to cash in at 237p.
In the heifer section, the same home achieved 270p for a 540kg animal, while West Bog dominated the per head trade at £1520.64 for a 576kg Limousin, to average 254p.
On the flip side, the 590 prime lambs sold to 261p from Scobshaugh, and to £125 from Fallaw, to balance out at 211p with a SQQ of 209p.
Beltex from Newton of Fothringham, led the ewes at £131, while Nether Logie sold Texel tups to £130.

Huntly
All classes of primestock enjoyed top prices at United Auctions' weekly sale, where 643 prime lambs sold to average 210.3p per kg having peaked at 248p for 39kg Blue Texels from Newton of Struthers, Kinloss, and to £139 for a 64kg Blue Texel from Braehead, Drummuir.
Cast sheep reached £194 for a pure Texel ewe from Corskie, Garmouth.
Stirling (Cale)
Bullocks and heifers levelled at 277p per kg and 238p respectively at Caledonian Marts' prime cattle sale, with bullocks attaining a top price of 275p for a Limousin from D Dickinson, Brockwoodlees, Canobie or to £1690 for a Limousin from AA and J Brand, Nethermyers, Auchtermuchty.
Heifers met a strong trade having sold to 272p for a Limousin from M Orr and Sons, Penston, MacMerry and to £1830 for a Limousin from D Dickinson, Brockwoodlees, Canobie, while bulls sold to 228p and £1717 for a Limousin from W Dick, Mains of Throsk, Throsk.
Among the OTMs, trade averaged 148p with prices peaking at 181p for a British Blue cross from C Dick, Taylorton, Stirling and to £1610 for a Charolais from McMurrich, Ballater Drive, Stirling, while dairy types attained 137p and £1230 from R Templeton, Carslay, Newton Stewart.
The firm also sold 1839 prime sheep, where lambs averaged 213p per kg, having topped at 281p for Texels from M Norval, Tullygarth, Clackmannan and to £140 for a Beltex from Doune Farms, West Lundie, Argaty.
A pair of Texel cross ewes led the proceedings among the cast ewes when realising £190 for T Mitchell, East Gormyre, Torphichen.
Stirling UA
Beltex dominated United Auctions' sale of 4065 new season lambs, which achieved an average of 211.76p per kg and topped at £131 and 289p from Harviesmailing and Strageath Hall, respectively.
Cast ewes peaked at £216 for Texels from Cairn, while tups made £139 for more of the same from Nethermill.
Thainstone
Averages were up on the corresponding week for all classes of primestock at Aberdeen and Northern Marts' sale, where heifers averaged 236.9p per kg.
Heifers sold to 257p on three occasions, firstly for two Limousins weighing 550kg and 520kg from Moss-side of Gight, and again for a 590kg British Blue from Wardhead, Strichen, the same home also hit £1608 for a 670kg Aberdeen-Angus.
Young bulls attained 195p for a 790kg Aberdeen-Angus from Mains of Tonley, Alford, or to £1552 for a 800kg Charolais from Auchorrie, Midmar.
In the sale of cast cattle, a large show of 61 beef finished cows sold to average £1362.42 having topped at £1750 for a 888kg Limousin from Brencher House, Birsay, with beef feeding cattle reaching £1290 for a 618kg Aberdeen-Angus from Odiness, Shapinsay, to level at £1066.22.
British Friesians were the pick of the bunch among the dairy cows, which witnessed trade balance out at £895 having sold to £1015 from Vatnahoull, Setter, while bulls topped at £1270 for a £132l kg Beef Shorthorn from Orquil, St Ola, to cash in at £1097.78.
Trade for the 1293 prime lambs levelled at 211p, with Texels scooping all the top prices of the day at 238.5p and £115 for entries from The Neuk, Nether Kinmundy.
The 1141 feeding sheep sold to average £70.02 and achieve a top of £204.50 for a pure Texel from Nistagar, Harray.
Longtown
A smaller show of 2667 new season spring lambs were forward at C and D Auction Marts' sale with an overall sale average of 225.4p per kg and a SQQ of 223.3p.
The sale topped at 293p for Beltex from P Urwin, Hillhouse, Kirklinton or to £160 for Suffolks from S and J Jones, St Helens View, Cornhill on Tweed.
The 4337 ewes sold to £208 for Texels from Marygate, while tups topped at £218 for more of the same from Beckfoot.
Lanark
On Monday, Limousins proved popular at Lawrie and Symington's weekly sale, with heifers selling to 274p per kg and £1820 from Messrs Dickinson, Brockwoodlees, Canonbie.
Bullocks attained a top price of 258p and £1540 for Limousins from Balquharrage.
The sale of cast cattle saw prices reaching £1780 from Messrs Cruickshank, Little Kype, Strathaven, while dairy types sold to £1285 from Messrs Struthers, Moatmains Farm, Lesmahagow.
The firm's sale of 3070 lambs witnessed prices hit £139 for Beltex from Messrs Baillie, Broomfield, and to 321p for Beltex from Messrs Anderson, Oldwalls, to average 220p with a SQQ of 220p.
A strong show of 2295 cast ewes and rams witnessed trade top at £200 for Texels from Messrs Eunson, Halley, Orkney and to £84 for Blackface from Messrs Hamilton, Woolfords.
St Boswells
Harrison and Hetherington's weekly prime sale witnessed bullocks (19) and heifers (31) average 251p per kg and 252p respectively, with bullocks having sold to £1574.72 from Snawdon, and 264p per kg from Lurdenlaw.
Heifers made £1580.64 from Bee Edge, and 268p from Lurdenlaw, while Cragside led the cast cattle at 207p and £1806.92.
Beltex from Crookston and Brothershiels, topped the prime lambs at £128 and 266.7p respectively, to balance out at 220p, while Kennel Cottage led the cast sheep with Texel ewes making £189.
Among the tups, a top price of £145 was paid for Suffolks from Cammerlaws.
Ayr
It was a flyer of a sale at Craig Wilson Marts' prime sheep auction, where 1920 lambs averaged 216.4p per kg and topped at £128 for two Beltex from J and R Mitchell, Fowler, and to 270.2p for a pen of four Beltex this time from J and W Watson, Muir.
A top price of £142 was paid among the cast ewes for a Texel from M and R Currie, Westlands, while tups witnessed a peak of £130 for more of the same from Messrs Gibb, Threepland.
On Tuesday, the firm sold 170 prime and cast cattle, where heifers and bullocks cashed in at 249.6p per kg and 260p respectively.
A Limousin heifer from North Boig, led the way at 268p, whilst another of the same hit £1790.70 for the Cook family, Glendoune.
The same breed was also in demand among the bullocks when selling to 263p and £1612 for Messrs Thomson, Blairbowie. Young bulls realised 268p or £1487.40 for more Limousins again from North Boig.
Castle Douglas
On Tuesday, Wallets Marts sold 1124 prime and cast sheep, where 750 prime lambs balanced out at 216.06p per kg and a SQQ of 217.04p.
Texels led the proceedings at £110 from Messrs Armstrong, Farhills, and to 236.2p per kg from Messrs Shaw, Killochy.
Cast sheep peaked at £157 for Texel ewes from Messrs McCornick, Barnbackle, with Scotch Mules reaching £119 from Galtway.
Carlisle
A Charolais cross steer from Messrs Crichton, Loughrigg, Egremont, led the way at Harrison and Hetherington's weekly sale, when achieving £2028.57.
Top pence per kg among the steers of 260.50p was paid to Messrs Bowe, Bothel Parks, Wigton, whilst heifers peaked at £1863.23 for a Charolais cross from Messrs Wilson, Carskerdo, Fife, and to 278.6p for Messrs Dent, Elm House, Appleby.
A Limousin bull from Allan Campbell, Strawfrank, Lanark, attained £2093.23, whilst cast cows peaked at £1872 for a British Blue from Ben Haigh, Breckonhill.
At the weekly sale of prime sheep, Dutch Texel lambs led the proceedings at £149 from Messrs Wigham, Hargill House, Hexham, the same home also topped the pence per kg section at 333.3p.
A large number of ewes sold to £158 for Texel crosses from Messrs Crichton, Loughrigg, Egremont
Dingwall
All classes were keenly bid for at Dingwall and Highland Marts' sale of 1062 prime sheep, where new season lambs (597) averaged 210.2p per kg (-10.7p on the week).
Texel crosses weighing 43kg led the way at 244.2p per kg for Englishtonmuir, Bunchrew, and to £132 for 68.5kg Texels from Balnabeen, Conon Bridge.
Feeding sheep (465) sold to £140 for a Texel ewe from 256 Rearquhar, Dornoch.
A small show of 18 prime cattle witnessed heifers sell to 254p for a 570kg Limousin cross from Bridgend, Dingwall, and to £1557.60 for a 660kg Charolais cross from Mountrich, Dingwall, to cash in at 242.4p (+4.3p).
