Some 21,379 North of England Mule ewe lambs were forward for a two-day show and sale at Hawes Auction Mart, which sold to average £130.04, up £21 per head on the year, with a top price of £850.
On Monday, Aberdeenshire-based judge, Alan Ross and Mike Allen, Staithes, found their champion in a pen from JW and ME Taylor and Sons, Den, which sold for £460. On Tuesday, judges, Allan Collett Oxon, and Tom Tustian, Banbury, tapped out a pen from G and HR Shields, Ravenstonedale, that later made £380.

Top price however was £850 paid for a second prize pen on the Tuesday from Martyn Allan, Greenhow, Dufton, purchased by the judge on the Monday, Mike Allen, Whitby.
