Another flying trade for commercial breeding sheep from Paul Slater's Whiteley Hey flock at J36, saw prices peak at 3600gns for a Texel shearling ram purchased by Sharplaw Farms, Hownam, Kelso.
The annual sale was toped by a Texel shearling son of Garngour Awesome, bred from a Scrogtonhead-bred ewe.
Overall, no fewer than 27 rams sold for more than 1500gns to average £1122.39.
Topping the females at £880 was a Texel cross Beltex gimmer selling to Ellis Bros, Ilkley, which was followed by a pair of Black Beltex cross gimmers which realised £850 when sold in memory of the late, Graham Slater, with the proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation. They were purchased by Harry Woods, Preston.
